Live Online Violin Lessons

Franklin Foster offers live online violin lessons. He has studied at San Francisco Conservatory, Juilliard School of Music, and University of Southern California. His accomplishments are many, including solo appearances with orchestra and as a recitalist, as well as the position of concertmaster for conductors such as Seiji Ozawa and Michael Tilson Thomas.

Please adhere to these guidelines:

  • All lesson fees for the month are due by the first lesson of the month.
  • There is a free twenty minute consultation before formal lessons begin. Internet connections and sound will be checked, and individual goals discussed.
  • It’s recommended that students take weekly lessons.
  • Please be punctual. It’s important that lessons begin and end on time.
  • If you have to miss a lesson for any reason, please give 24 hours advance notice.
  • If there is an internet connection problem, the lesson will be rescheduled or the lost time added to the next lesson.
  • There are no lesson refunds. If the lesson is missed for any reason, it will be rescheduled at a mutually agreed upon time.
  • Please consult with Franklin before purchasing a new instrument or having your instrument repaired.
  • If you choose to discontinue your lessons, please give one month’s notice.
  • Practicing is a must for improvement. It is recommended that a student practice at least six days per week. The length of practice should equal the length of the weekly lesson.

Live online violin lessons using Zoom Web Conferencing requires a computer equipped with webcam, microphone, and a broadband connection to the internet. It is usable with Mac, Windows, and Linux systems.
